AS8 and DDR - Frequency issue?

    Hi

I just installed 2 sticks of 1Gb PC3200 DDR, but when the system posts, I see:

    HOST/DRAM Frequency 136/170

I thought the DRAM Frequency was supposed to be 200Mhz for PC3200 memory..

    Here are my CPU/Memory Specs

    ABIT AS8 Motherboard
    Intel Celeron 331 2.66Ghz
    Corsair DDR VS1GB400C3 (x2)
    BIOS set at "Optimum" defaults

Is there anything else you guys need to know? Is there anything "I" need to know???

Thanks for any help at all...

Re: AS8 and DDR - Frequency issue?

Right about the CPU, but it look like the PC3200 DDR is underclocked. Can this be adjusted?

I tried to read up on multipliers and ratios and FSB and voltages and, and, and....but all I got out of it was a headache.

Can anything be done to adjust things to bring my RAM up to, or closer to it's rated capabilities?

Re: AS8 and DDR - Frequency issue?

I just installed an ATI/Sapphire HD-3850 this morning, so I am hoping to get this DDR issue resolved. Any ideas anyone??

    Thanks

I was running AMDs when this was out but you will be looking for something like CPU : DRAM ratio in the BIOS - probably something like 2:3.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

yeah change the ratio or just increase the fsb to 200.

Re: AS8 and DDR - Frequency issue?

I took your advice on increasing the FSB...I bought a new CPU

    Intel Pentium 4 531 3 GHz processor

Now the host/dram ratio is 1:1 at 200Mhz, all is fine.
