    FP-IN9 IDE Issues

Hey -- Ran into trouble the last few weeks with a Fatality FP IN-9 that has been bulletproof since I bought it. I tried to upgrade to 8gb of memory.... I can't get the memory to play nice but I think that's a compatibility issue. My real issue is this -- since upgrading to BIOS 16 I can't get any device on IDE2 to be recognized correctly.

The auto-detect in the bios comes up with gibberish that's a few chars off from the real ID of the device. It also reports all hard drives at 103GB, but none of them will mount in windows. Same with CD Drives. IDE1 still works fine. I've reset the bios and tried everything I can think of. ideas?

    Re: FP-IN9 IDE Issues

    Hi Wotan,

I do use BIOS 16 and my two IDE controles work fine. I used to have a IDE DVD-RW and a Sangsung 80GB hard drive and everything was ok. Both IDE´s never had any problems.

Anyway try to reflash your BIOS like Buff say, do it under DOS mode, and make a full clear cmos after, maybe that can help you. Check your cabes and drives, look for something wrong.

    Good Luck!
