    [Help] Bios update failure

    Motherboard: Abit ip35 Pro

when I update bios from 1.1 to 1.8 under Windows (I don't have floppy drive), it freezed at 30% update progress

    after reboot, the screen shows
    -----------------------------------------
    Award Bootblock Bios 1.0

    Bios Rom Check Sum Error
    Keyboard error or no keyboard

    Detecting Floppy Driver A Media
    Drive A error, system halt
    -----------------------------------------

I know something is wrong with Bios, How to fix it?

    Many thanks.

If I buy bios from ebay, do I still need to flash using floppy drive?

As said, I had the same problem, downloaded a different version BIOS from another PC and fitted a floppy drive, updated the BIOS and all was fine.

if you buy a new bios chip from ebay you will not have to flash it again although check with the seller to make sure it comes with the bios you want on it

    Re: [Help] Bios update failure

Buff's link above explains how to recover it.

If you can't do it, I can probably re-flash it for you for a donation to charity.

    Re: [Help] Bios update failure

I still owe Agent about three lungs and a kidney, the amount of times he's reflashed my BIOS chips for me. Still don't know how I killed so many... just lucky I guess.
