PC "died" all of a sudden, motherboard-related?

I was browsing the internet, just as normal when all of a sudden the PC rebooted (which isn't exactly new) but this time, instead of actually rebooting, the screen just remained black with the standby light blinking, as if the monitor wasn't receiving any signal. I took the graphics card and put in another one (because one time this also happened and turns out it was the graphics card that broke). Anyway, this time even with the backup card it remains the same. I also tried clearing the CMOS and didn't work. What could possibly be the cause?

My motherboard is an Abit IN9-32X MAX and the code it displays (after I reboot and the monitor stays "dead") is 9.0

    Thanks in advance

9.0. is usually either power (dead/dieing PSU, short etc.) or BIOS (corrupted, unsupported CPU etc.) related.

without knowing anymore from your initial description I would probably look at PSU first.

Some more information: when I turn it on, everything seems to be fine except the monitor (which is working) doesn't get any signal (it flashes "analog/digital" for a few seconds, searching for signal then goes to standby). I'm pretty sure it's the PC that doesn't really boot because even though the power on light and fans turn on, neither the mouse nor keyboard do (I pressed num/caps/scroll lock keys and the lights didn't turn on). It's really odd because everything was working find then in the next second, this happens

I'm searched a bit and came across this thread:

http*://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-27227-computer-powers-on-but-does-not-boot (sorry, had to censor link, just remove the asterisk)

Lots of people having similar problems, maybe it'll help. I'm reading it myself trying to look for tips
