    Unhappy CPU and MBO issue

    Hello,
I have a problem. Recently i bought a new CPU (Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 ) and now i get blue screen of death constantly. I own this motherboard (Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI).
On this page ( abit.com.tw/cpu-support-list/mb/nv_nforce650sli_fp-in9-sli.htm ) i can't see the CPU that i own, but there stands that site was last updated on Jul. 08. CPU i own is released after that date. Can somebody pls tell me is this CPU compatible with my motherboard.

P.S. I updated a bios to the latest version 18b.

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: CPU and MBO issue

I'm not quite sure what the 18b BIOS is meant. Did you use the beta bios
"m624b_18" from the "BIOS updates for Intel E0 stepping"-thread?

If you didn't: The only thing you can do is trying this. Best would be if you do the flash under dos using the following command:

    awdflash.exe m624b_18.bin /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /cks

As all the Abit guys are telling: It is important to make a CMOS clear after the flash. Then boot, go into the BIOS and load the optimized defaults.

But be aware: This BIOS was meant for all the E0-CPUs. But your Q8400 is a R0 CPU I think. Recently I tried a E5200 in R0 core stepping on the FP-IN9 SLI, but I had no success... :-(
