    IP35PRO + QX9650 and light overclocking settings.

    Hi guys,

I used to post on the abit forums, but i gues this is the next best thing now. rip abit

Anyway, had my ip35pro for many years now, and still love it. My E6700 was getting a little old tho, so i got a nice QX9650 of ebay. I could never get my E6700 to overclock much, but i hope to overclock my new QX9650 a bit.

I always had problems with heat inside my case, and dont have the best cpu cooler out there (thermal take blue orb 2), so i just want a medium overclock.

I just need a little help with the settings, im a huge noob here. btw, im running bios 17.

    So these are my settings:
    FSB 350mhz (FSB 1400)
    CPU 3.5Ghz
    multiplier 10x
DDR at 840 (OCZ PC6400) 2.1V (like the OCZ claims it should be)

With the standard Vcore this is unstable. Its boots fine, but crashes after 10-20 minutes, I started raising the Vcore. 1.29 would still be unstable. but 1.3 seems to work. I know i can go much higher, but if im not mistaking that will make the CPU hotter. I did not test it for very long, but under full load (i used prime95) the temperature goes up to 60. Thats kinda hot right?

So any advice on what to try to boost its performance? I would love to go 400mhz x 9 = 3.6Ghz. I just dont want it to get to hot.

    Thanks!
