Ip35 Pro - Upgrading RAM, Gskill or Kingston?

Hi - I have been running an IP35 Pro with Q6600 for a long time. I did origionally OC and got to 4GB RAm (Corsair Dominator 1066 DDR2), but I had to run the RAM slow using 4 slots so went back to 2GB. I am alos now running at stock speeds.

I now want to go back to 4GB RAM in 2 slots. I am looking at:

    Gkill : F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK
    Kingston: KHX8500D2K2/4G

    Both are 2x2GB DDR2.

Anyone have a suggestion of which is better at stock and better for OC?

    Thanks

thanks - as it happened I did go for GSkill even though it was a bit more expensive. Lots of positive comments.

    Gskill : F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK

I am running these in my IP-35Pro. Brilliant stuff, really good. Although I've found they don't like running against a 1.25 clock multiplier (maybe that is normal?)

Re: Ip35 Pro - Upgrading RAM, Gskill or Kingston?

to be honest I am amazed at this RAM.

I overclocked the CPU when I got it, but always struggled with stability. Stick this in , oclcoked cpu to 3g and did not leave ram at 1:1 - its running just under 1000 and it is rock solid. Will post with exact details, but no issues at all - even orthosx4 (one for each core) casues no issues.

Re: Ip35 Pro - Upgrading RAM, Gskill or Kingston?

Hi, I'm also using the IP35 Pro and want to upgrade the RAM. I'm currently using 4GB (4 x 1GB) of Crucial Ballistix and would like to go to 8GB. I also have the Q6600 CPU.

Forgive my ignorance but are you saying that it's slower using all 4 slots than using just 2?

this motheboard (any many others, maybe all??) will not run 4 slots as fast as 2.

Iv been running 4x 2gb for number of years now and not notice any diffrence when moving from 2x2gb.

I did increase the MCH voltage to 1.33 as recommended from another website

I'm sure 2 slots would be faster than 4, but in real world uses most end users are not going to notice.
