AX8 v2.0 Sata controller on SATA300 drives

I'm looking to fit some samsung spinpoints on my AX8 after exhausting my NAS..

But I have heard that the SATA controller on the AX8 (not the southbridge, but the 2 extra SATA provided by another chip) doesnt work well with SATA300 drives..

I am aware it wont run at SATA300 speeds.. which is fine as SATA150 is fast enough for me.. but the SATA150 drives are getting so rare now.. I need a couple of drives and the SATA300 drives are the best bang for the buck at the moment..

Can Abit confirm compatibility with 250GB Samsung Spinpoints SATA300 drives?

On most SATA300 drives you will find that you can convert them to 150 by changing or adding a jumper.

Check samsung website find the information on the drive you wish to use.
