    pci soundcards and abit ab9

hi right i have an abit ab9 but there is omething wrong with the onboard sound

basically i hear everything ok but if i use a mic on teamspeak etc i just give off huge wailing feedback to everyone so am currently using a sounblaster live 5.1 (dont laugh)

i have an audigy 2 not value one but as the pci slots are so far down and the audigy is very picky about pci slots 1 and 2 only it just ownt detect the soundcard as being plugged in so i cantget drivers to install or sound from it

so what i wish to know is which soundcards will work fine with the board(specifically for music gaming and teamspeak )
was looking at either an audigy 4 or an xfi need it to be cheap as christmas has nearly bankrupted me

but cant go on with dodgy tinny sound its driving me up the wall

    cheers for all the help

I run the AB9 Pro with the Xfi Extreme Music which without doubt is an oustanding soundcard, however I have a m8 who is running the AB9 Pro with the onboard and we spend a fair chunk of our time playin BF2 with Teamspeak and to be honest he finds the onboard audio very good. Not had experience with the Audigy 2 as I went from an Audigy LS to Xfi but find it strange the car is not detected, can u try it in another machine to confirm its not the card itself. Also never use the drivers on the CD, I will post a number of links below to the latest drivers to ensure sound is ok, hope this helps

    DirectX Redist
    REBOOT
    Latest Onboard HD Audio Drivers
    REBOOT
Clear any game cache b4 u play if they use cache, i.e BF2

yeah the audigy 2 works pulled it out of my system when i upgraded to core2 the onboard on my abit i think is screwed but dont wannasend it back as i would be without my pc for 4-6 weeks

the audigy 2 is famous for being picky with slots the problems lies with that any drivers i try all say that it cannot detect the audigy 2 in my pc

is a shame as i loved my audigy 2 but it was always a pain in my old board i used to have to install it in the top pci slot using a single slot graphics card then switch it down a slot to put my 6800gt in but on this board it wont detect it in the top pci slot
