P183 + cp-850?

My ancient (non modular) Truepower 550 stopped working about an hour ago so I really need a new PSU. I'm upgrading my PC anyway so need something with more power on the 12V rail to suppy a GTX260.

I like the design idea behind the CP-850 (it should hopefully be both quiet and reliable) and would need a case to put it in (probably a P183 as my priority is a quiet case).

Is there any concrete date on availability of these parts? I just tried to order the CP-850 from LambdaTek - their site said "NO STOCK AVAILABLE - more expected on: 07/06/2007"

I just tried to buy this PSU on the link you gave but the site will unfortunately only ship to the US and Canada - I am in the UK. Do you know of any resellers selling the CP-850 in the UK?

I have also entered the competition but while winning one (or both) in a month would be great, I would prefer to buy the PSU at retail now so that I can use my PC sooner.

The P183 is now available from Overclockers, so it's likely to arrive at other places as well soon. The CP-850 is harder to track down, but eBuyer do have it listed on their site as a 'pre-order'. Neither are particularly cheap though.

You are able to get the P183 now, as for the CP-850, unfortunately there were some delays that are out of our control and the product will be available sometime in April. On the other note, the twitter contest is going to end very soon!

Thanks for letting me know about the availability from Overclockers.

The CP-850 should be around £99 inc VAT when available (at least it should be from lambda-tek who also list prices) which compares with pricing for the standard shape 650W/750W PSUs while being more capable. I want to buy something that has headroom for future graphics cards running SLI but which is still reasonably quiet. All the reviews that I have read of other powerful (850W+) PSUs mention how noisy they can be under load - I'd like to get the CP-850 as it should be fairly quiet supplying around 500W.

I agree that the P183 chassis looks a bit pricey - hopefully the price will drop when there is more retail availability. As I want to get the CP-850 and value quiet cases I think the P183/P193 are the only chassis options that I have at the moment.

Do you know if the CP-850 has been further delayed? I have spoken to a few retailers this morning and none know when they will have any in stock. Is it possible to buy directly from Antec in the UK?

I must admit, waiting for the CP-850 is starting to get a little annoying. The only dates I've seen are saying mid-May. Hardly 'sometime in April'. Maybe Antec should concentrate more on getting products released on time, rather than spamming the ebuyer reviews with 5-star ratings
