    "TwoCool" Fans

I've been wondering this for a while now but have never actually found information on it anywhere, the new Dark Fleet 85 case (ignoring the disparaging opinion a lot of you probably have on it ) comes with the following fans as default:

    - 2 x top 140mm TwoCool™ fans
    - 2 x rear 120mm TwoCool™ red LED fans
    - 3 x front 120mm red LED fans with speed control knobs

What exactly is the difference between a tricool and a twocool fan, is it simply the fact that tricools have 3 speed settings and twocools have 2, or is there anything more than that? And similarly, the front 3 fans that aren't labelled as twocool, are they the same as the other fans just with an adjustable speed without any preset limits (the wheel that changes the resistance)?

Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid thread, it's just something that's been bugging me recently.

This isn't a stupid question at all. You're right. The difference between TriCool and TwoCool are the speed options available. You have two different settings on the TwoCool fans and three settings on the ThreeCool fans.

The TriCool 120mm fan speeds are ~2000 RPM at the highest setting, ~1600 for middle and ~1200 on the low end. TwoCool 120mm spins at ~1500RPM on the high setting and ~900 on low. Finally, the 140mm TwoCool spins at ~1200RPM and 800.

Finally, the Dark Fleet also comes with some special fans with variable speed knobs that allow you to fine-tune the speed that your fans run at even further. DF-85 comes with three of these while both the DF-30 and DF-35 come with two.

Thanks for the fast and helpful response, it's awesome to know that someone from Antec keeps an eye on these forums and actually cares enough to reply to queries.

Also it's pretty interesting to learn that low for a twocool is a lower RPM than low for a tricool is.
