    Need some help.

I have been running my PC now for over a year with no real problems, until the last few weeks. I have a hard crash ( freeze with buzz sound) and must reboot. This only happens durring games ( BF3 etc). It didn't do this until after I got my new msi 7870 a few weeks ago. So I did a quick PSU calculator on what my hardware is, and is says min 650 watts.

    The specs
    i7-975 4.2
    sabertooth x58 motherboard
    msi 7870 stock clocks
6gb crucal ballistics ddr3 tri channel ram at 18xxmhz 1.4volts
    1>spinpoint F3 HD
    1>CD/DVD RW
    sound blaster titanium sound card
    liguid cooling H50
    2>200mm fans w/led
    1>140mm w/led
    5>120mm w/led
    2>12in case lights
and usaly a game pad or flightstick
    other lights for power,etc.

All this on a Antec 650 watt TP PSU. Could this be a power issue, as I have never had such an issue be for. Thanks

Try running the CPU at stock clockspeeds and see if the issue persists.

Set everything to stock speeds and reinstalled drivers. Still has a crash.PSU is about 14 months old. Maybe defaulty GPU?

Check your temps...it might be that you have introduced a hotter running card into the mix.

    Re: Need some help.

Nope. Really common one this, I used to get it all the time on my CF5870s, but not all now with the single 7970.

If you google sound loop crash it would appear to be some sort of conflict between onboard realtek drivers and the GPU. The only cure I've seen appears to be buy a cheap sound card, or play with drivers and settings until it stops.

There's rarely anything wrong with the hardware. Almost certainly not the PSU.

    Re: Need some help.

I have a sound card (in my specs), and no realtek driver installed.

    Re: Need some help.

    Part of your motherboard drivers.
I'd have a look online - but as I say I haven't seen any clear cures for the buzzing crash.

Check in device manager/sound manager that the realtek isn't enabled...it may be switching to it for some unknown reason. You can probably disable the realtek to be sure in BIOS and/or Windows anyway.

If its onboard sound you need to disable it in the BIOS.
    Cheers, David
