Problem w/ Antec CP-1000 8-pin power connector to GTX670 video card

I'm stopped in my build with this problem:

I've got a Gigabyte GTX670 video card that requires power for both 6 pin and 8 pin connectors. My Antec CP-1000 power supply contains two PCI-E power cable with 6 pin + 2 pin separate connectors. The power supply 6 pin connector fits fine in the video card's 6 pin connector (I leave the extra 2 pin connector loose). But the other power cable from the power supply with 6 + 2 pin connector won't work in the video card's 8 pin connector - the 6 pin portion fits, but the extra 2 pin connector won't fits because it has a small tab/key that prevents it from fitting into the video card connector.

What gives? Do I have to cut off the tab/key? That would make it fit, but that doesn't seem right.

    Thanks

    How do I post pictures?

I tried to post a link to a drawing I made of the issue, but the forum software won't let new posters submit links until they've posted 5 times.

you can always obfuscate the URLs as in :

    www-bbc-co-uk

Its easy to search and replace . to - and then for someone else to replace - with .

I'm an idiot. Forgive me for taking up your time....

Last night I went down into the basement with a flashlight and not was not dog-tired like I was the night before. A close examination with the flashlight of the 8-pin video card power connector showed that there was a very thin slot that the 2-pin connector with the external tab could fit into. I tried plugging it in, and with a bit of force, it fit. PC powered up.

So a non-problem was solved. Thanks again guys.
