Mac Book to External VGA cable

    Chaps,

My mac book was delivered today. I was shocked to see a non-standard monitor out cable.

Is there such a cable that will allow me to connect the mac book to an external monitor at all, even better in a dual monitor (screen and monitor) configuration.

    Thanks.
    It is Inevitable.....

Am i right in assuming that the cable they give you is for a "mini DVI" port?

In which case, you'd just need to get a mini DVI to DVI adaptor (or mini DVI to VGA) Apple say they sell them separately, but i imagine you could just get a cheapo version that would do the same thing:

    http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObje...07A&nplm=M9321 (to DVI)
    http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObje...099&nplm=M9320 (to VGA)

Yeah - I have all the Apple convertors, I dual screen up with my 20" DELL TFT using DVI, but VGA works fine with projectors and I have S-Video for rare occasions! Dual screen works fine

If you do plan on buying it off amazon, make sure you buy the converter for the Macbook, not the iBook, as they are slightly different.
