Right, just got my first Mac, I really like using it and haven't found the changeover to the Macbook too traumatic. However there's a couple of problems I'm having, answers very much appreciated!!!

1) How do you setup Firefox to play embedded WMV files, like from the BBC News website?

2) Is there an IM client which allows you to video-chat with people using MSN Messenger?

There'll probably be more!

1. I think if you install perian it should play wmv files in firefox

Yup Adium is a pretty good multi-network IM client. You might want to get Growl as well, which works pretty well with Adium. If you are also planning on using iTunes as your music player, then GrowlTunes and TuneKeys are a pretty nice combo.

Adium seems great, but it doesn't let me use the iSight to chat! Do any others allow it? I got growl from the recommended software bit, seems really useful!

Haven't found one myself... I don't really use the camera much. And if I really need to, I just use iChat. Not much help I'm afraid....

Install Flip4mac - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...omponents.mspx

It adds WMV support to Quicktime.

aMSN will let you do the webcam thing but not the video-chat - http://www.cmq.qc.ca/4w/amsn/

aMSN was right on the money! I've got flip4mac installed and it seems a touch buggy... I'll try fiddling with it, thanks!
