Lost Apps on iPod touch :(

I synched (sp?!) my iPod touch with my PC and it said something about transferring purchases from my iPod to my PC so I said yes....

Not sure if that was the reason, but now half my apps, games etc are missing on my iPod I'm gutted!

Went back on my PC, and it automatically synched again, and I think it backed up my iPod, so now it has probably overwritten any games that were originally backed up.
Stuff that is still on there is stuff that I have put on since backing up last time so it's not that I have overwritten what was on my iPod originally.

Pants.... anyone have any ideas what I did, or if there is a way to get them back????

My girlfriend had the exact same happen with her iphone, but it was with purchased music. Unfortunately I couldnt find a solution, nor have i been able to find why it happened, so i too am interested if anyone has any ideas!

Did you sync to a different PC? ie buy the stuff on one, and sync to another? iTunes doesn't like that at all.

You'll probably find if you sync with your original PC, everything reappears.

Yeah, it is fugly, I've been having the same deal with iPhoto too. TBH I'm gobsmacked that they've not done something about this already.....

Didn't sync to a different pc (although the first time I used iTunes was on a different one, but have only synched to main pc since then).
Still don't know what I did but have re-installed what I lost... Just a bit nervous of synching again now in case it happens again!

Have you contacted apple at all ? My mate had this problem with his iPhone, he sent them a friendly e-mail and they looked into his account and then made the things he'd lost available again for him to download.

This has happened to me with a couple of games, but to be honest at 59p a throw (and it was only 2 games) I'm not overly fussed about them, but music I would be.

if you've already purchased any apps you can always download them again from the same account for free..
