My missus's G4 Powerbook has 512Mb ram, and as she'll be doing a fair bit of 3D rendering on it, would it be possible to upgrade it to say 1Gb? What ram is it? And where should I take it to get it done?

Easy. If it is the new 15" Alu, then it's got PC3200 DDR ram 200-pin SODIMM modules - You can get these from crucial online (google for 'crucial+uk').
Installing - You can either do it your self or take it to an AppleStore. I did this and they installed it for me....but not all of them would!
Use the crucial memory selector (go to www.crucial.com/uk) and choose the right stuff. Its dead easy to install it yourself (there's a section in the manua.) But obv if you really don't want to, just pop down to an applestore
I took mine to the applestore as I couldn't find a phillips00 screwdriver anywhere! was cheaper to get it done as well than buying a screwdriver
OK, thanx for the pointers.
