Best place to get NEW Apple Macbook Pro ? Also applecare?

So I know someone who wants a Macbook Pro. He wants it new.
He wants finance.

Anyone know the best place? Or is the apple store / PC world the best place?

Also, good idea for apple care?
Those that I have spoken to - and computers have broken - have said apple care is good. Those that have not had computers break seem to think applecare is worthless. Just looking for opinions and viewpoints here

Insurance in a nutshell, it's a waste of money until you need it. I'd check that you wouldn't get some sort of cover on your Home policy (they tend to just replace like-for-like anyway). But if the cost isn't astronomical it may be worth the peace of mind.

I'd be more inclined to get it from an Applestore if there is one nearby, easier if you need to claim under warranty.

As for AppleCare, pretty much as virtue says, but given the highly integrated nature of the MacBook, I think I'd take out AppleCare, just for the peace of mind.

If he can wait until Christmas historically they have 0% financing available through their online store. Not sure if you're able to do it in store. It's underwritten by Barclays. No idea what the standard rate is.
Other option would be to take out a 0% credit card, you'll usually find some quite good deals as long as he's got a decent credit score. I'm not suggesting debt for a depreciating asset is a smart move, but providing you're living within your means and understand the risks then it can work.

Only other locations I'd ever really consider getting one from would be John Lewis.

As to AppleCare, depends how clumsy your friend is!
