Same resolution as my 20" widescreen. Laptops have the craziest screens!

    I'm doing a differences:

    17 inch adds:

    1 USB port
    1 FW800 port
    1680x1050 (as opposed to 1440x900)
    2.16ghz minimum ?
256mb of gddr (no 128 allowed)
120gb hd default (100gb fasthd optional)
8x dvd burning and dual layer burning (as opposed to 4x and single layer only)

5.5 hours of battery! (as opposed to the 15" 4.5), MAGIC!
Nice to see the FW800 back, should stop people worrying that Apple are abandoning it.

Saw this today on Apple. At first I thought "OMFG I just ordered my Macbook 15incher 5 days ago!" But then realised that there was a 300quid extra charge. Also I *think* my intentions are to get one of the Apple 23" or 30" cinema displays to use with my MBP 15" - in future of course

Can you see these dropping in price. I think they are way too expensive.

The prices usually tend to drop when Apple release a new revision. So you will be able to get a more powerful 17" macbook pro for cheaper. As you can imagine it will take a while.

About people complaining about the high price, I'm pretty darn certain that when the first revision 17" G4 powerbook was released it was above the £2000 mark.
