iPaq / PPC sync with mac? (for free?)

I'm looking for some software that will let me syncronise my iPaq pocket PC (3950) with my intel macbook.

All that I have found so far are 'pocket mac' and 'the missing sync', but both are commercial software with no free/lite versions. There is a trial of 'the missing sync' if you look hard enough, but its pants - doesnt work very well at all (freezes randomly, and takes 20mins to transfer a 4meg file to my ppc).

So i'm after an alternative All that I really want to do is transfer files to/from it, so that I can play my old monkey Island games using scummVM.

Anyone know of any free software to do it? Or perhaps even a command line (or other) method to manually mount the damn thing?

Will you be storing the stuff on a card, eg CF? And do you actually want to sync stuff, or just move files around. If its the latter then a card reader may be a good option. Otherwise I have been looking for some syncing software that supports WM5, but the only one is 'the missing sync', which is beta. It is a pain.

yeah I can get an SD reader, but then again I will have my PC back soon so could use that..just would be nice to use it with my mac without having to install parallels again, or XP, or use my pc.

iSync doesnt work with Pocket PC afaik?

iSync doesnt see my PPC anyway, only works with palmOS devices

If you have bootcamp, or a windows install on your macbook, can you not run some windows software, and then once everything is loaded into a certain format, surely the mac partition (macosx) can read the files etc and copy to the macosx partition?

I removed my windows install as I never really used it..and cba to go through installing XP again just to play with my PDA Looking for an OSX solution that works really ;/

The problem isnt getting OSX to read/write to the memory/pda/whatever - it's getting OSX to recognise that a PPC is attached and then mount it so I can read and write to it (the PDA that is)

hmm thats strange. On my old M500 I used to get a really fast transfer rate of files and contacts etc. They don't suppoer WM5 fully yet so I'm yet to try anything out on my new C600

I have a very old one tho (IPAQ 3950) so maybe thats the issue..still thanks anyway
