Problems printing to shared printer

Ok, so I have my imac connected to the same workgroup as my desktop pc. I can access files on my pc using the imac and vice versa. But when I try to print to my printer which is shared on the workgroup I get problems.
The printer is a Canon ip4000 and connected via usb to the desktop pc which is running winxp pro.

I'm just having endless problems trying to print to the canon from the imac which is running Tiger. I can find the printer if I search for it, but when I send it to print, nothing. Is there something I am overlooking?

Any help would be much appreciated.

ohh i had endless problems doing similar,

in the end i think when you add the printer it will ask you for a username and password (even if non are required) XP wont print unless you have a valid UN & PW

if you have already clicked the 'add to keychain' checkbox you'll have to go into the keychain utility, find the password entry, delete it, and start again,
