There's nothing in the law that requires a company to sell their goods to another company. So if someone won't stick to Apple's pricing plan then Apple don't have to sell to them.
But there is a law that says you cannot force a reseller to sell an item at a set price. The case of the football shirt price fixing case is the same as what could be the case here.

i worked in the audio and tv department in john lewis for nearly 2 years. Apple were bastards when it came to pricing, we wernt even allowed to sell then in the sale for much less than they were new. Apple are a ripp off simple.

Most items in the sale were 10-15% off (which isnt bad on £1000 computers and the like) but at MOST apple would let us take about 5% off, any more and we were told the 'relationship would be in jeopardy'. We even had an e-mail from them once that we wearnt allowed to give the Price promice on apple goods, but we told em to go shove it and they needed us more than we needed tham so they gave in on that.

Yep...this is what holds me back on trying apple hardware. I have had no experience with any apple hardware at all, which is quite sad, but I could just never justify the cost. Its expensive because you are paying for a "designer" name...kinda.
Maybe hexus should ask apple uk if they would like to comment on any of this. Just to get both sides of the story.

I also read the article on /. Its very intresting to say the least. Surely even if they are price fixing, a huge company like Apple could easily get around any problems?

It's been pretty obvious for a long time IMO. Everything was the same price online and whenever you went in the high street, and these prices were constantly considered to be too high by me.

You can't deny that Apples are expensive, and they do treat the UK public as second class consumers - our shipment of 20Gb iPods was sent to the USA to meet demand there, meaning we went without for a long time.
