    Unhappy Mighty Mouse?

    Hi everyone!
I have the most bizarr problem with my wireless mighty mouse. I have had it since the release in the summer. No problems until now, a few days ago i had to replace the battery. When i changed the battery the scroll ball stopped doing down. up, right, left, but not down. This as you can imagine is dam irratating!
Any ideas how to fix this?
I have tried different batteries, restarting the computer, i havnt changed the mouse settings...

do all the other buttons work, oh, wait.

Ive never used one, but on my old logitech half the buttons would work on one channel but not the other. Do they have multiple channels?

delete the profile/pairing and try re-pairing the device (i presume its bluetooth like all the rest of the stuff?)

also disable any sort of programs you may have for the mouse (that affect any nifty moves etc) to see if that makes a difference

3rd option give it a kiss and see if it gets better

I have had the same problem with my wired mighty mouse. A quick google or search on the apple support forums will reveal that this is a very common problem.

My favourite method for solving this is to take a piece of A4, wet the ball with a little drop of water, turn the mouse upside down and roll the mouse around on the ball for 20 seconds or so. Rolling in a circle worked for me.

And as if by magic - the ball works again!

its working! maan, i thought the days of cleaning mice balls were over! looks like i was wrong!
Now all we need are optical scroll balls to solve this problem!

i had problems galore with my wireless mightly mouse, the right click worked for 3-4 mins then just stopped working, useless piece of expensive plastic tat it was. took it back and got a logitech one instead. shame as it doesn't match the macbook but at least it works well
