Was having a thought about getting a mac mini (which i do think is a great form factor as is) and opening up the case and taking the components out, putting into a SFF PC case in order to then add extra hard drives, change the CPU, upgrade RAM etc etc.
Does anyone know if the motherboard would fit into any sort of standard PC case (ie the screws / stand-offs at the bottom)?

I think the motherboard mounts are custom and don't prescribe to any official spec such as mini-ITX. However you should be able to fit it in any mini-itx case and create your own standoff's.
If you are wanting to upgrade the mini you know can make it into a 2.33ghz core duo 2 with 2gb of DDR2 and a 200gb hard disc in the standard mini setup?
No mods required

The mini board is totally proprietry, and you might find a world of hurt with the cooling.
I'd be tempted too look at VIA's latest offerings, a lot cheaper, plus if your going oh so small flash memory is dirt cheap too now!
In short your wasting your money, and in for some hurt.
check www.mini-itx.org for some insperation. Thats mini-itx, not nan-itx mind you!
