the golf is the original hatchback and the original hot-hatch and for years has been the best and most classy hot hatch and as testiment the golf is still made and has cult following all over the world......if the golf is uncool then NO hatcback or sporty hatchback should be allowed on the cool wall either because without the golf they wouldn't exist

No Hot-Hatch can possibly,by definition,be cool............they shout "look at me!"......they are driven by uncool people.They are brash and showy,and the people who own them generally go on to tart them up even more..................way uncool.

To be "cool" there needs to be an air of sophistication about the choice......as in the DB7 etc....or something that trancends all definitions....like the Landy.

Its not about the choice being very expensive (no Lamborgini could be cool but they are expensive ) although quality costs and a car must ooze quality of one sort or another to be cool.

Image......the image the car projects.....what it says about the person driving the thing is a long way towards the definition of cool.......sticking a humungeous engine in an otherwise dull little shopping trolley will never make it cool..........a Renault Clio with a V8 stuck in the middle of it will always leave you looking like a Prat of the first order......but its probably an absolute hoot to drive.....but thats a different list.

Final thought,for the moment.......a cool car rapidly becomes uncool in a direct inverse ratio to the numbers sold.( with a very few honourable exceptions...pax Landy again)......cos,unfortunatly,cool is also slightly bound up with elitism, exclusivity and,dare it be said,snobishness.



It ought to be said here that I drive a rusty G reg Audi 80 worth,at least......£200, and which cool car to buy when the inevitable Lottery win finally comes my way troubles me greatly

SKYLINE IS COOL......

in 10 years time it will STILL BE COOL.....

It is the only car to trancend Euro/Japanese culture.....it was designed to WIN RACES by the Japanese and the rest of the world fell for its charms. It will be eternally cool.

So cool you can solidify Oxygen on it.

BUT.....I am at fault for ALWAYS looking like a nob, so that's probably why I feel that way

Sub Zero in my book, and exclusive with it. I don't care what top gear say, it could have a Lada badge and still be cool. Saying they wouldn't pay the money cause it's a honda is absolutely stupid in my opinion.

On paper yes. It won Evo magazines drivers car of the year award though, so don't think it's slow.

I have driven an NSX - all of 2 miles but I have driven one - they are not the easiest things in the world to drive, unlike the Diablo SV which is like your driving an Escort.

That's odd. The NSX is meant to be a very easy to drive supercar. I haven't driven one so I can't speak from experience but all the reviews I've ever read say it's just like driving a civic (a civic with a very powerful engine however)
