    So?

Show me a normal 172 that hits 172bhp without any mods. 99% won't hit 172bhp.

I'm not fussed whether it hits the true figure, so I'll happily get it dyno'd on the way home.

Just so I know what I'm starting with

Mine made 144bhp@the wheels and so did two other 172's that turned up standard. This is roughly 170Bhp which is good enough for me It only had 1500miles on the clock too
You WILL love this car to bits, everytime i get out i have a big smile on my face it really is awesome.
I'll get some pics of mine, its the same as above but in the 'faster' Silver colour!

    Boyo,

I'm hoping to get mine RR tested on the way home, just so I know what it reads.

So there is a 25bhp (approx) loss through the transmission? This pretty standard across the board?

It's done 10,950 miles, so I guess should be loosened up fully and whatever it gets is it's "true" figure?

I remember something along the lines of the Cup's have to be 172bhp and are tested to be so out of the factory, but the std 172s tend to vary a little and are usually around 165, might be bs though!

Semi correct. Cup lumps are bench tested to 172bhp, 172 lumps aren't.

The whole point of it being called the 172 is cos i has 172 bhp. Now this could be the measured output from the engine directly, so you are all wrong and all right at the same time.

Now it is time to STFU!

    EDIT - PS. Nice car!

    Arguements about the power aside.....

    She's here

    Collected the car this morning.

It's soo nice to drive, still shifting at about 3.5/4k coz I'm used to a diesel. But when you keep it going to the red line, omg it sounds soooo nice.

    Yup, you're right Zak.
    Hardings of Bovingdon

God damn fuel was expensive in the garage next door. 89.9p per litre of NORMAL unleaded!!!! :O I only stuck a fiver in it to get me home then filled up with BP Ultimate at 83.9p per litre.

It's soooo nice Lots of little things really.

Start the engine at night and the lights come on automatically
Engage reverse and if the front wipers are on, then it gives a "courtesy" rear wipe.
Doors lock after you hit 10mph
If you unlock it but don't open the doors within 30seconds, it rearms the alarm.

Still finding stuff out everytime I drive it.
