F1 testing - Is it worth it?

    Hey all,

Considering attending the final day of F1 testing next week and just wondering is it worth the 220mile drive for the day?

Basically the plan is to drive down there first thing Thursday morning, get to the circuit early as possible. Then once the days testing is finished, drive back up to Donington Park and pitch up camp for the weekends MotoGP

Has anyone been to an F1 test? Is it worth travelling all that way for some pictures?

    Cheers,

I've been to testing at silverstone.

It's not worth a 220mile trip unless you're with some mates and it's a proper trip out.

We ended up leaving after a couple of hours - it's really worth going for a bit, but to be honest you do get bored of cars going round the track that aren't actually racing. It's fun to see them in the flesh, and experience the sheer madness of it all, but once you've done that there's no much to stick around for

Hmm, I'd say 220 miles is a tad far for a testing day. I've been to one before, but I got lucky and went on a VIP day with Toyota. Believe me, that was worth the trip for, however just being joe public? Nah, not unless you're a die hard fan.

It's an ideal way to experience an F1 car being given the beans in person though - TV doesn't give you real sensations of how these cars sound (and feel!) when they scream past.
