    Puffin crossing:

'Staggered' pelican or puffin crossings. When the crossings on each side of the central refuge are not in line they are two separate crossings. On reaching the central island press the button again and wait for a steady green figure.

Horn answers: Pretty much yes. I don't have a highway code to hand but I think it's pretty close to "The horn must only be used to say "I am here". It must not be used as a rebuke."

The rule about not using it after 11.30 is pretty stupid though. It's preferable to have a crash than to risk awakening people is it?

The horn. Use only while your vehicle is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively.
You MUST NOT use your horn :
    -while stationary on the road
-when driving in a built up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am

except when another vehicle poses a danger.

    Rule no1 for Box junctions....

they are PAINTED on the road...and the paint has a lot less grip than the tarmac...so go carefully with power or brakes and even turning.

    am I helping here ?

There's one I go over on my way to work, and I really cannot accellerate over it, or the wheels just spin. It's awful.
