Dry roads!

Finally some dry roads to have some fun with!

When I bought my car the garage had been kind enough to replace the front Continental Contisport's with some no-name tyres. To be fair they were low on tread... Anyway they aren't exactly confidence inspiring in the wet, so I've been fairly sensible recently on the wet roads.

But now it's dry... f*** me does this car handle!! With the traction control turned on it's very hard to make the front end wash out in a corner, and with it off it's not much easier. I went into a roundabout I often go around in 2nd gear (based on a wet road) and had to change up to 3rd to avoid bouncing off the limiter! What can I say, big grin factor

I really cannot wait for some GSD3's and 17's, it's going to be like glue!

Writing that post got me all excited so I went out to have a play. Turn in, lift off, wehay tail steps out, bit of correction and back on the throttle to bring it in shape again, and repeat until tyres run out

But the eagle F1s are amazing wet or dry. I've used Yokos, but they only show an advantage in the dry, in the wet they seem to be a bit rubbish, a bit like the pirellis i've tried ( i can't remember which ones.)

Probably P6000's, they're way over-rated.

you should try my 'Tigar' brand rubber (courtesy of previous owner, naturally) - toilet in the wet and dry... still, the completely neutral nature of the chassis, the telepathic steering and my sympathetic yet direct driving style mean it's only an issue in the wet...

but suprisingly... not noticably any worse than the P6000's i had on my first '5!
