I have been offered a Renault Clio
It is 51 plate new shape, 30000 miles, 5 door, 1.4 privilege
How much do you think it is worth?
It needs tyres and about 80 pounds worth of paint work on the side

Best place to look is Parkers, look at the good price then knock 80+tyres*1.2 of that off, and that should be what you should offer
20% of the good price?
can you just check it out for me please dave? im only 17 and am getting really confused with it being my first exp. lol

nah, sorry. Take the amount the paint is going to cost, add to it the cost of new tyres, fitting and balancing, and then add 20% to that. That new figure is what you should then knock off the 'good' price on parkers, and that would form your offer.

Parkers says £3535 based on 50k miles so it might be worth £3800 or so in A1 condition. Thats also asuming its a 2001 car, not a 2002.
Tyres might be £60 per corner so £240 for the 4. So you're looking at about £3400 for the car

so is 2.8 good? thats wots being asked? when it says private poor does it mean like accident damaged
It could mean that but normally it would just mean torn seats, scratched paintwork, stained carpets etc etc. Basically something that hasn't been looked after. Maybe needing a service etc etc.
If its been in an accident then i wouldn't bother with it, after seeing a crash comparison with a non damaged car on fifth gear. The damaged car was a LOT of crumpled after the crash than the original car
anyway i just bought it, thanks alot guys for your help
no it isnt accident damaged, it is in good nick and has just been serviced motd taxed and valeted. just needs tyres and a bit of paint as i said
id offer no more than £3,000
just look at what you could get for £3,000 on autotrader.
cheapest priviliege i see is 4000
