    Leather interior installation

I finish paying the loan for my 98 Escort next month, and to thank this superbly reliable car (only just done 70K), I'd like to reupholster the seats in some luvverly leather (black or cream). Does anyone know what prices I'd be looking at for two front seats and the back bench seat? I'd consider door inserts, wheel etc if the price is low enough.

Two front seats, plus rear seats is about £800.

But the doors will look silly, so they'll need doing.

All of this is a waste on an old Escort. HOWEVER.....I'm sure there was an Escort, and an Orion, with leather seats.

So...find out which one, and go find one at a scrap yard

Yeh would say scrappy, or get on an escort forum someone will have what your after, bespoke seat upholstering is NOT cheap, cost a mate of mine a huge amount to have custom buckets made out of the original material that came in the car

ghia models are what your looking for

you may also be able to take seats from other ford models, no idea what would fit...

However, if you want them in good condition, your unlikely to find them at a breakers - since they will be wet and mouldy.. (and still be stupidly expensive).. best idea would be from somone breaking there car, so try escort owners forum (think there is one...)

But, if you have the time, you can diy the door cards.. though I definetly wouldn't try the seats.

Even cheaper, would be to BUY/collect an old banger with the correct seats, with whatever other problems it has.. take the seats out, brake any other usefull parts/sell them, then get paid by the scrappy when he takes it away...
It seems some scrappys will pay you for a mk3 fiesta, with no front suspension or wheels, no engine/gearbox and very little else...

I've seen decent sets of leather seats on ebay as well (was looking into selling my Mondeo Ghia X ones at the time...)

thanks guys, we have a decent scrappy near us, might give him a heads up. £800 would definitely be a waste, but it'd be nice to do something; the car's so rock solid it'll last for a few years yet.
