    Yesterday I drove.......

A Saab 95 Aero 2.3HOT with 250 bhp. It was fun!
It's a company car, belonging to one of the Directors. He's only had it a couple of days! He said he knew I'd had fun in it, cos all his stuff in the boot was thrown EVERYWHERE! I did have a go at it with the traction control off and quite enjoyed spinning the wheels in 3rd! But most of the time I left the traction control on. The only thing I didn't like was the turbo lag......

is that the one with the big cargo wing? aka Spoiler!

I like Saab's... well built sturdy cars.

    very sweet

this is the cargo wing i was on about lol

    CargoWing
The CargoWing serves as a spoiler when lowered. When raised, it becomes a functional rack to carry objects such as skis and snowboards.( available Spring 2004)

Ahhhhh ok. No, but it has a roof rack. I think it's for the Director's skis.....
I don't know if any speed cameras got me, but I don't think so. Went from work (Walker) through the tyne tunnel, to south shields and then along the felling bypass to gateshead then to team valley and back over the tyne bridge to work. And I don't know what my top speed was, because I was watching the road too carefully!

HOT - please don't tell me they wanted HOT as a badge type

/me wonders sometimes who comes up with these ideas.

What was the chassis like round corners?

Did it feel enjoyable - did the thing talk to you.

    All important questions ....

Nahhh, the HOT is Saabs name for it on their website......

It was pretty comfortable around corners, not too much body roll. It was enjoyable, but I didn't think it talked to me all that well. But, my god, when you put the happy pedal to the floor and feel it squirm under power with the traction control light is on until you lift off, it really gives you a buzz! Not a bad handling car. Is the latest Saab still a Vectra? (With LOTS of toys....)

Only the floorpan... and that is modified. The older 93 was supposed to be a cavalier floorpan I believe.

His goal - 550HP. Hoping to drive it one of those days.

P.S. Can any of you guess what car that is ?

    I hate u I hate u I hate u

    Detomaso Pantera (GTS with wing?)
Nice Ford V8 power with Italian looks.
Damn things rock and VERY 70's

Interesting to note the Rover SV is based on the DeTomaso Mangusta

Oh yeah and I love Saabs too. Family had a 900GLi back in the 80's and I loved the looks and huge boot. The dash is one of my favourite bits. 900 Turbo is still one of the great motor cars and even now my motor would struggle to keep up with the full 175bhp version.
