    Interesting fact on Aircon

Having the Aircon ON in a modern car, uses LESS fuel than having all the windows open, which creates drag.

And while it is true that you should always keep your windows closed for it to work at its most efficient......remember that you gotta blow air through air vants and ducts inside your dash board that are HOT AS AN OVEN.....

So first thing you do, is switch on the Aircon, OPEN the windows, blow it flat-out for 30 seconds, THEN close the windows.

I have been experimenting all day long

    Nice fact mate.

Since I got me car nicked I've spent the last day in a hire car that the insurance people have provided. Its a Corsa Active 1.0. And its the first new (its about 6months old I think) since I passed my test 3-4yrs ago and I have to say its an amazing change I'm gonna be gutted not to be driving it when I have to give it back.

But back to the point. I've been experiencing the joys of aircon today and its great and now you've told me that info I think I'll put aside my worries about burning petrol and just sit back and relax

Aah, but there's the common mis-conception... Aircon isn;t just to keep you cool, it's about maintaing a CONSTANT temperature within the conditioned space.... just set the temperature and the gubbins will try it's best to keep it there, by blowing hot or cold air at you. Wish I had aircon in the middle of February, when it snows here.... brrrr.... lovely cold thoughts... hmmmmmmmm

I prefer aircon to open windows anyway.. especially in this weather. The air that blows in is blummin hot right now, so it's nice to have a winter breeze blowing on your features :>
