2001 Passat TDi - what's it worth?

Hi,
So it's time to upgrade my car. The Mrs has just bought a puppy, and we pick it up in 3 weeks, so we need an estate car. I have:

2001/51 Passat TDi
78,000 miles on the clock
2 owners (my folks and then me) from new.
FVW main dealer service history
Spotless bodywork - has spent most of it's life garaged
Professionally fitted Pioneer DEH-P75BT bluetooth headunit
12 months MOT (just done)

It's recently had it's 80000 mile 'big' service (serviced early as it's just left it's warranty)

If I sell it privately, rather than part-ex, what's it worth?

5000-6000 dependent on the engine size and specification...

Assuming it's a 2001/51 TDi SE, Glass's Trade Books it at £3800 in good condition. You should be able to get £4.5-£5k for it in a private sale.

Remove the Bluetooth head unit though, it adds nothing to the value and is a rather nice unit so you can use it in your next car.

OK, so I just picked up a new car and I need to sell the Passat. Where is the best place to sell it? Autotrader? Anyone have any tips?

I sold my very similar Passat on autotrader for £4450 - mine was an X reg though, and had the 16" sport alloys. That was about 4 or 5 months ago. First person who saw it bought it - they tend to sell quickly on autotrader
