    Santa Pod THIS WEEKEND!!!

Right I know lots of you guys were very interested in going which is fantastic

    When: 25th January
Where: Santa Pod, Northants (NN29 7XA)
    How much: £10 admission, £15 sign-on

There's a bunch of us from Newbury and Fleet who will be meeting up in Newbury in the morning to go up in convoy, so if any of you guys want to join us you're more than welcome. We haven't worked out where we're meeting yet but it will be a well known location in Newbury.

The gates open at 0800 and runs start at 1000. We need to arrive at approx 0900 to make sure we get signed on and sorted out. I've yet to work out how long it will take from here but we'll probably be setting off around 0730.

Please post here if you will be comming and it you want to meet in Newbury first. I'll update this post with more info asap.

    Official links: www.rwyb.com

    Edit 1:

Us guys from Newbury/Fleet are have decided on the route. Basically we're going along the M4 from Reading West (J12) to the M35, going North to J21 to pick up the M1 to head up to J14 and make our way over to Poddington.

We're stopping at M4 junction 11 (Reading East) to meet up with the guys from Fleet, so if anyone in the area wants to join the convoy that is the place to do so. We should be there between 0750 and 0800.

    Cheers

    I'm heading up.
Not sure I'm gonna run tho, it is gonna be absolutely heaving I reckon as it's the first RWYB of the year.

But I reckon I'll be up for meeting up with you guys as I'm only down the road in Reading

Well it was flippin excellent! Managed to get a bit lost on the way there, but that was ok as they didn't start runs until about half 11. Some very nice cars about (and some heaps!), mostly Fiestas, Golfs, Saxos and the like, but some nice Integras, Subarus and even a Ferrari 360

My best quater was a 17.8 which I'm pretty happy with! I cant wait for the next trip now

I didn't go as I felt poo (still do).

But I heard that there were over 260 people signed on to do some runs, ie a VERY busy day in terms of runners.

Better get practicing Shad for next time, coz I'm aiming for a low 15 run when I eventually go.

No pics, but loads of video which we're trying to get onto PC to edit.

I'd be quite impressed if you got into the low 15's Coco; i dunno what the weight difference is but my mate's Rover 218 Vi managed 15.8, and it's running about 180bhp.

There were 280 sign-on's when then said that was it. Good thing it was one of the first things we did! Only trouble was waiting in the queue on the return road for about an hour between runs (managed 3 in the end). We got some great 'drive-by' footage on the motorway there and back, but I doubt if it's 'appropriate' to show here

See you at the next one Coco

Yeah, some of the stripped ou 172Cup guys are getting into the 14s, but I'd be happy with a 15.*

Theres been loads of ppl complaing about grip fo the 1st 1/4 of the strip, RDS's cally managed to spin all 4 for most of it, as well as lots of loud bangs lol, his terminal speed was 109tho so it shows the car has a lot more to come...

Yeah, loads at the RSC were complaining about grip. Some of the RT boys were still getting a bit of spin in 3rd gear, so God knows how you're supposed to get the power down cleanly.

Easy - get a RWD! and go when the tracks warm and prepared properly (usually the weekend before one of the big events when the teams are testing set ups)
Apologies for not making it - spent the day playing with my V8 at home

It was flippin slippery off the line, but strangely my best run was my second when I was wheel spinning right the way through 1st gear! Absolutely shocking start, I thought.

Turned the TC on for the next one, which felt much better, but was slower

Had the tyres chirp changing up to third though
