    First Caterham video, woo!

    Stage6 · Niknak Motorsport · Hullavington November 2007 - Video and Download

Woo indeed! From yesterday at Hullavington airfield. Much happier with the setup of the car after some tweaks, just need that LSD so I can do some proper power slides

watch those front wheels ....that suspension is working hard

How much is the slipper? and what % lock up. I'm not sure, from that vid, that you're gonna find it that helpful, as you're very smooth, but it will make it more fun at slower speeds in the wet.

Nicely driven, ....you lines changed near the end, when you had that other car in sight... I felt the blood rush

Really good video I thought. I didnt think personally it seemed that quick until there were the shots of the inside of the car and at the left and right wheels. Any chance for future video's you can get some sort of mph readout overlaid on the video? Did you end up overtaking what I think was another Caterham in front of you?

    Thank you chaps

Zak, not sure on cost of LSD yet, I'm betting it will be around a grand once it's fitted. Couldn't tell you any details as there are a variety of different diffs and I don't know any specifics yet. It's the slow speed corners I wanted to have more fun in - the hairpin was good and it would step out so far, but once that inside wheel gave up that was it.

I don't have any data logging at the moment so can't do a MPH readout - it feels quicker when you're sat a couple of inches from the ground

But yeh dispatched with that black Tiger (Seven look-a-like) on the exit of the next corner. The most comparable car over a lap was an S2 Exige which blitzed me on the straights but kept falling off when it tried to keep up with me around the hairpin There was also a Caterham Acadamy race car which was basically the same as mine but with less interior and a cage, which was close but lacked straight line speed. Still, impressive considering he was on treaded road tyres!

All good fun though, looking forward to getting onto a circuit next. New rear tyres and fresh oil first though

can you stiffen the shocks or the springs? If so, tighten up the back a lot, and it'll be less forgiving, and the inside wheel won't let go,t he arse wil just carry on around.

    Or....and it's harsh,....

slip the clutch and give it beans.....

also, you might wanna inflate those rear tyres more.....cos it's free to try and easily changed back.

The diff issue is literally sticky! So many sorts and I have to say, it might make it really really hard to drive in a straight line, specialyl under engine braking. All I'm saying is, pick carefully AND find someone who's got one...and beg a trial.
