Came to the car over the weekend to greeted by a large pool of orange cooland sat under the car leaking off the drive. Popped the bonnet to find the coolant system totally empty - expansion tank dry as a bone and the pipes easily squeezable.
Not sure exactly where it's come from, though the gearbox housing is covered in coolant so I'm guessing top rad hose for now, but until the weather drys up I can't easily work out where it's coming from. Oh well, another annoyance, grr...
Lowe, at least it happened on your drive, not 5 laps in where you might not notice it...

Having a mare of a time with coolant myself... noticed a few drips coming through the dash onto the drivers foot well in the 7. After some investigation and dismantling tonight, turns out the heater matrix is shot
Quite a common thing though apparently.

You'd think wouldn't you! But I was pleasantly surprised - just the one electrical connection under the dash for the fan (easy to get to), and 4 screws under the bonnet holding the heater unit to the bulkhead. Shut the valve, disconnect the pipes with a towel underneath to pick up the water from the heater, and out it comesupside down, feet in the air, crammed in the footwell, pedals digging in your head, no room for spanners.... one armm pinned to your side, stuck, breathing your own hot breath, anger building.....
