Opinons on an old subject, JPM/Gordon

Don't know if you guys saw the Gordon/Montoya ride swap @ Indy over there but I'm sure you either read or heard about it, the European motorsports mag (motorsports GP???) I get had a good article about it.

It did a lot of good for promoting F1 over here with all the NASCAR fans tuned in to see how well Jeff would do in an F1 car.
All the NASCAR fans wanted a bit of revenge to show that just because Winston Cup cars are big and heavy doesn't mean our drivers are any less skilled. They just enjoy the sport of stock car and prefer doing what they do more than any other form of motorsport. Not to say they could all drive F1 'cause only a handful like Gordon and maybe Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman could. Stock car racing is a bit of a national past-time over here so it's as loved here as Cricket and Soccer are their

Anyway, what did you guys think?
I think it would be cool to have this take place every year somewhere between differing types of cars and drivers.

Wow, would have thought that would be big news, a F1 driver a Winston Cup car. The European F1 crowd is seem as a bit snobbish over here so this was huge here to see an F1 driver willing to "Step down" to run a Winston Cup car. The best article I read about the event was in a European (British) Motorsports magazine that I buy at a Magazine shop. Can't find a link to that article or mag but lets just say the Williams people were quite impressed with Jeff Gordons performance in an F1 car, especially consideering it was his first time ever driving a car like that and his first time on the Indy road course plus he had only about 12 laps total. JPM did equally well in Gordon's car. The main impression that most had afterward were that for one series to say they have the best drivers in the world is not as defenite as one may think. The Williams/BMW people said Jeff would have no trouble being competetive with the likes of JPM and Shumey, not too surprosing to us AMericans though as Jeff is extremely talented.

Heres an article I found although not that in depth-

    Sporting News.com

Thankfully, Indianapolis is only 2 hours away
With the new Budweiser sponsorship of BMW/Williams I now have access to good tickets
And am also a JPM fan, as well as Rubens and of Michael,
    Ralf is a whiner

jeff's a great driver, im sure he would do great whatever he raced, its natural talent aint it, you dont just get into a nascar you race loads of different types before so you do adjust well and im sure he could. nascars a great sport, its just not shown enough, its on channel 5 but like 2 in the morning, still good to watch tho when lack of sleep kicks in

this made me laugh "Gordon's greatest fear is crashing the BMW. But he has prepared by practicing with a PlayStation F1 video game over the weekend and by taking laps in the No. 24 Monte Carlo to familiarize himself with brake and turn points on the road course"

what a game can do for you lol

    errr ? ? ?

    im confused
