I am not considering a body kit atm. In fact i am hoping that i will be able to find a clean example without one. Although if its very lightly or very tastefully modded i might be able to live with that

Have you seen the dashboard on a prelude? Very nice. Although you'll struggle to find a nice 2.2 for the money you want to spend. Have you considered a CRX VT? 7.4 to 60 and incredibly easy to drive due to the VT engine. They are getting a bit old though now.

Well, its still a year and a half away, so prices will drop a bit. Whether any 2.2 vtecs will remain "nice" is another question.

isn't a CRX a 2 seater? I want at least a 2+2.

CRX is a 2+2, but the rear is pitiful.
