    Mosley gone come June 3rd?

I'm interested to hear peoples responses.

Given the video "evidence" on the new of the world site (dubious source i know), but it seems fairly certain to me that given the strong statements and the damning evidence against him the anonymous vote is going to go against him and he'll be gone.

(more here - BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Formula One | Mosley future hinges on key vote)

Is there any way he can survive?, and if not does anyone think we'll get any improvement in the person in this position?.

Re: Mosley gone come June 3rd?

Although it'll depend heavily on how the dust settles until June I reckon he's had it.
Regardless it's not the way he should have gone.
    I hate 'dirty-laundry' reporting.

As to a replacement ..... one can only hope we get a good president.
Jean Todt has done Rallying and F1 so he's good overall experience (and a damn cute other-half!).
Ex-team owners or managers are always useful because of their insight into the sport.

Who else might be in the running?

Re: Mosley gone come June 3rd?

I'm not 100% convinced he'll go but I really hope so (and have voted that way). I'd love an ex-team owner / manager to get it as they hopefully wouldn't go for things like engine development freezes! Nobody wants F1 to turn into a 'cheap' sport with all teams running practically identical cars - part of the appeal is that F1 is meant to be the pinnacle of motor sport for both drivers and technology

And also was Mosley's first choice to take over, though how much that counts for now is open to question - shouldn't have any bearing on things, but you know, brushes, tarnished and all that.

He shouldn't be FIA president for 1 reason alone - many feel the FIA have been sleeping with Ferrari for years already... they wouldn't look kindly on having a Ferrari/FIAT man at the helm.

Re: Mosley gone come June 3rd?

I dearly hope the motor sport reps in the FIA vote definitively to kick him.
The guy is a megalomaniac. I think the fact that he hasn't had the courage or decency to resign shows just why he shouldn't be president.
His position is untenable. Even his old bud Bernie is giving at best tepid support.

I read a story the other day that Max phoned Bernie up to rant about how crap he thought Bahrain was, and how little he thought of the Crown Prince (using very colourful language). Apparently, the Crown Prince was sat next to Bernie at the time, and got the gist of what Max was saying. Hardly professional (if its true).

    He's history I think

    Either peope are
    A: Actually disgusted
B: Feel they should be disgusted
    or
C: Jealous of his private life but wont admit it.

In any of these cases....he's toast imo.

Personally I wish it had been Ecclestone instead. If there's one thing F1 needs it to get rid of that poison dwarf.

    Too true

Frankly there are few I'd trust in the position who everyone could agree on.
Richards? - I like but not sure if I trust
Dennis? - I'd like but no other team would agree after last year
    Stewart? - Too many enemies
Brundle? - Wouldn't take it and way too young
Berger? - Well I like him!

Can anyone be considered who's only been a driver?

Re: Mosley gone come June 3rd?

Some people were saying it was important to get someone who wasn't a driver for the job. With that in mind I'm not sure I can think of anyone who'd be right for the job - probably best to go with someone who's been at the top of the AAA or something (although that might not be the best choice as far as green concerns go).

For me, the same reasons why Jean Todt can't really be FIA President goes for any current or recent Team Manager. Anyone who is likely to have a conflict of interest isn't going to be a good candidate.

Also, bear in mind the FIA are not just representative of F1, although F1 is the most prolific, they cover other motorsports too.
