    What else have you driven?

Perhaps the best way to learn about the handling would be to er... test drive one?

    Hopeless on corners?

The handling is just sublime. Directional stability, the sheer agility of the thing, it's brilliant. Such good fun to drive. And with the sports pack (Eibach uprated springs and dampers) there's virtually zero body roll. Fuel consumption is rated at about 35mpg combined, though the computer is telling me that long term I'm averaging 28. But that's just down to how I drive it

You can quite easily cruise at 50+mpg (the computer tells you your current/average mpg for total and trip). The tank is 60 litres which equates to about £40-45 per tank for me.

Honestly go and try one, you will be impressed. Also be sure to visit www.alfaowner.com and the forum, loads of like-minds to answer questions

    sounds promising

one more thing is it easy to mod the engines on it with a racing chip or something like that?

I'm not sure if you can just bolt on any old chip, but Autodelta in London are a specialist Alfa tuning company who do the best remaps in the business. Most effective on the diesels, but gains of 10-15bhp can be seen from the 1.6 unit for something like £250 I think.

Anyway the usual filters and intakes can be done, but then it moves to cams and supercharging (200bhp from the 1.6!). Other stuff might be available but I haven't looked that much.

www.poweralfa.com are good for tuning parts.

ugh I wish I could afford an Alfa, my dad had four 164's, he just loved the sound lol, he said he would never buy one himself but as long as a company was offering then he would take the 3.0 V6 lol.....

I want my sisters though, 147 Selespeed in black with the big, BIG alloys, Red Momo leather interior and black metallic paint, looks like a tarts palace inside, and bugger me if the thing ain't quick, mind you not as quick a my dad's new Z4, parents, you gotta hate em lol
