Its just a toned down Micra with some dodgy headlights, and a general tone down from the Micra.

It reminds me of the old Fiat 500, I don't think they're trying to copy Nissan/BMW.

Looks much nicer than a Micra though.

I think its a cross between the ford ka and the nissan micra

It may look a bit like the micra (but not much like mini in my opinion) but it came from their own heritage.

I immediately though Micra when I saw it. But you gotta ask yourself, how many more 'new' designs can they come up with? So many cars nowadays look similar they've got to start looking the same soon...

if you look at the side view, by the rear wheel, im *sure* thats exactly the same bum as a ka. it just looks identical

It does look like what would happen if you drive a micra into a ka at 100mph.

Not a good start - why do fiat only make ugly as sin cars? Get a life, get some deigners fiat!

Have seen this car on another forum, rumors are that Fiat are going to make it as well, and yes it is to revive the old 500 design, and yes it is to directly take on the mini.

It has some novel design ideas built in; the rear lights are actually LCD panels which can adapt and change the shape/size of the lights depending on which lights are in use/needed, the dash has no switches, just a row of touch panels, the dash can be folded in forwards so that the seats can be slid forwards to give rear passenger space, and metal has been replaced by special plastic wherever possible to reduce weight, e.g. the seat frames are plastic etc.

But if it's going to take on the mini, and in particular the Cooper S it's gonna have to be fast, so there will be a special Abarth edition with the 1.6 16v engine from the Corsa, but with turbo giving.... 180 bhp !!! and it's MUCH smaller and lighter than the mini !!!

I rekon the 'hot' version will be worth keeping an eye out for. All those clever electronics in an Italian car though... let's keep our fingers crossed!
