My dad works at a garage and has just bought me a 1996 (I think - N Reg) Fiat Cinquecento SX. It was really cheap aparently cos it was a part exchange.
It's being brought round to my house in the next day or two, probably tomorrow for me to have

I'm rather excited, despite not actually having a license yet I'm rather chuffed that I've got a car! It's still sinking in tbh!

Now the only problem is to pass my test, and find some sort of part time job that will enable me to afford to insure the bugger!!

If your goin for in car entertainment I would recommend ALPINE all the way tis what i've got in mine, and sounds lovely.

Yeah as I'm a bit of an audiophile I'll be going for sound quality over noise levels. Although a sub in the back to reinforce bass will probably be a preference. If I remember correctly the Cinq has like 4" speakers in the front, facing straight forward so that's a plus, but 4" speakers will want low-end reinforcement


Anyway I shouldn't be worrying about this, I've got lessons to take and a test to pass!! Lol

Well if you want to go for quality - you'll be wanting the mids and tweets in the front facing towards you. No need for rear speakers, only falsifes the soundstage. Plop a nice well matched small sub in the boot for bass duties (dont go overboard, a bass guitar was never designed to make your head bleed or shake the rust of your sills!), and your sorted

just a word of warning, most subs are heavy, and the cinq is only a 1.0, so dont expect to be able to move forward at a great rate of knots if your car is "iced to da max", btw, i recomened an alpine HU, and pioneer speakers,

I don't planning on getting a huge-ass sub.
I also don't plan on spending huge amounts on any of it. I've seen some pretty nice HUs for under £200, although I'm not sure on the speakers yet.

Butuz's advice is pretty much what I was thinking.. mid/high speakers at the front, and a small-ish sub that reinforces the lower-end. I think having speakers in the back (like 6x9s on the parcel shelf) not only makes it sound awful, but entices theives.

i personally like having a soundstage towards the rear when im driving. not too far, just a tad. my personal taste thou.. the reason people put 6x9s in the parcelshelf (im making myself an mdf parcelshelf this week for this reason) is that the boot acts as a cabinet and amplifies the bass. cunning eh if you do go for them, make sure they are spaced well apart, not toward the middle, so that the stereo effect isnt lost

If you get any problems with the Cinq post on here, as my g/f has one (same 899cc version) and we've fixed many a problem with them, including the dreaded Cinq handbrake be sure to check out http://www.fiatforum.com as well lots of Cinq owners on there

For the ICE in hers it's got uprated front speakers, yep, they are 10 cm but watch the clearance if you get some with tweeters in the centre and want the grills to go back on. To back it up I put a pair of cheap and nasty 6x9's in the shelf, I don't like 6x9's really, but they are spot on for her as they give tons of bass, don't intrude into the tiny boot, and as they're cheapo ones don't attract the wrong attention.

My X had a little cinq sporting with a nice 4 x 50w sony thing in only prob was she had original crap ass speakers in car, was a bit loud when I transplanted some 300w 6 x 9 pionneers in there though lol

quick word of advice....

Cinqs are fantastic small cars....but they DO BEND in crashes...

really bend...

so now is a good time to look at what kinda driver you wanna be and start planning your mental state....

I'd suggest a GOOD DRIVER with an intention of living a long time is a good stsrting place.
