Car insruance problem, please help! what can i do

I dont know if this is the right place to post this.

Im a new driver. 20yr old

I first got my car insruance in 1st of March and it cost me £1800 and I'm paying it monthly so i had to pay something like £400 for the first month and then around £150 after that for 10 months.

but I checked some insruance quotes today and I got a quote for £1200 for the same car (from same company), no information was changed.

What can I do about this?

I'm new to all this insurance thing.

If you start a new policy then you will lose any accrued NCB, they might not even let you do that

What are you driving? My 105bhp megane was £780 when I was in that condition last year

Best strategy in this situation is usually just to give them a courteous phone call - quotations can vary even based on the time of year they are given, so it's nothing malicious on their part, but you could suggest that you'd be more likely to renew with them again if they show good willing and drop your premium to the currently quoted level.

You can try calling them and discussing the matter. However i have been in this situation before where the companies price was cheaper through gocompare than my renewal, i just stopped the policy and went through gocompare again, i even rang the company and explained the situation and they were quite happy with it.

Surely alot can change as far as underwriters are concerned in 2months? When you did the quote/policy is it asking for how long you've held your license in years or months?

If it was a broker, the quote might be from a completly different insurer who just happens to have a cracking deal on atm or just teamed up with that broker, list of possibles is endless.
£800 over 2months is a joke tho, agree with the others, give them a ring and see what the score is.

Out of interest what are you insuring thats costing £1800/year?!
