    Talking My "New" Van

    Got this last week

Definately not the fastest thing on the road, but the most fun to drive IMHO

Yep not cheep, but Ive wanted one since i was 2 feet tall

    Specs:
Nope its a 1500cc Flat four Single Port (not the original, but the same as what it would have been). Its not too bad though can hit 75 tops, but i never got it for speeding so i don't care.
    Got Drum Brakes all round
Its a 1964 Model too so no seat belts....although i think I'm going to have to have some fitted as it seems weird getting in and not putting one on.

I'm probably going to do the top half in white and leave the bottom the same color, but that wont be for a while (cash problem), so i'll just stick with the rat look the now

Ye there is a fold out double bed, sink, cooker, etc in the back.

MOT shouldn't be that much of a problem, may have a couple of bits of welding to do but not much really. There is a bit of play in the steering so it may need the kingpins done which would be fun but hopefully it will just be the steering box is badly adjusted (cross your fingers for me )

    OMG I'm insanely jealous

I love those things. I had the model after that, a plain van model, for 8 years, loved it.

On those older ones, they need regular maintenance and lube, especially the steering, have you got yourself a grease gun?

    Nice wheels m8

Thought the 'rat' look was one of the in things on the VW scene at the moment.... well at least thats what Ive told the missus with her 1303
Very nice mate - would rather have one of those than a bug tbh

Ye the rat look is ok and I guess its the in thing but I've always wanted one in blue and white. I have had 3 bugs in total already (2 * 1302's and a 1300) and this was the ultimate upgrade after selling the 2 that i had a couple of weeks ago.

    Cheers for your comments
