Koni Suspension

Got my Koni Sports suspension for my 2000 reg Focus 3yrs ago. One of the shocks has gone and needs to be replaced. Anyone know where abouts the part number is on the thing so I have a rough idea where to look? Probably have to take the wheel off.

Guessing if they don't make that part two new Koni shocks.

Which engine?

Koni Suspension Kit - Sports:

SSK43 - Focus 1.4i & 1.6i 16V ; 98>03 35-40mm
SSK44 - Focus 1.8i, 1.8TD & 2.0i 16V ; 98>03 35-40mm

I did look at motorsport, but I have no idea if Koni have changed them in the past 3 years so I was going to try and check. The original kit part is 1130 1601

I used to work for Leda and they used to rebuild/service their units, Koni may do the same...

Well if the parts list is to be believed there are only three parts suggesting the mounts at the front are side specific while those at the back are identical.

The only listed UK Distributor on the Koni site for the UK is Camberley Auto Factors Ltd. (01252 517272). I'd give them a bell and double check

Well its the driver side which is defunct. So that is RHS ... ?

Not too helpful, said to check the part number on the shock, which I probably will do to be safe when I get home and its not raining! Will probably ring the guys you suggested too.

Can't really afford 2 at the moment. If the other one goes well, I'll do it then. Ordered the one from Potn just shy of £140inc delivery. Have Koni springs on there already as it was part of a kit. If I had a spare £450 I'd buy the kit again for spares!

PLEASE....do them in a pair. 3 years of wear on one, and a brand new one the other side, is a recipe for uncomfortable breaks again. The bushes, the seals in the shock, the harshness of a new one next to an old one....

I would have Zak, but I can't at the moment. Maybe in a couple of months I'll get the other one finance providing.

OK got a package today. Right and left shocks. Result! Can swap both. Yeah I only ordered one, unless Koni thought well he has one send the other as well.
