Got my first car on Friday! :D

...its a dashing 1.6 1999 Ford Focus, T-reg and I've been tearing it up in North-London in it all this weekend, went to ASDA with the wifey on Saturday and have REALLY been enjoying the whole independence thing.

Going to celebrate the whole passing my tests, driving test, becoming a dad and of course, getting my car thing this Friday evening and don't worry, I'm not going to have a drop of alcohol, don't fancy losing my license after all this hard work we're just going have a big car mash-up with my mates as I've finally joined the club after six years


And to all ye petrolheads on here, I'm glad to finally join the ranks

Ooooh how exciting it felt like passing all over again when I got my first Car! wait till your pink license arrives and it will feel like passing a third time yay!

I'm nearing the end of my two year probation, can't believe how quickly the time goes

When it rains, it's MUCH harder to stop than you'll ever imagine, so when it rains.....go very very carefully. Triple your stopping distances, and DON'T put yourself in a position where you have to brake hard or steer hard.

Have a great time out there bud and mind bikes, people and animals...you'll not BELIEVE how hard it is to see a bike when you're driving a modern car with thick windscreen pillars and you're in a hurry. Look out those sidewindows for a LONG time and watch for movement before you pull out.

The cheapest insurance quote I could get was from SwiftCover at a 'meagre' £1,286, but thats for me, a 23 year old co-habiting male etc etc, it depends on so many factors also, its best to add other drivers to your policy as this reduces the cost by quiet a lot.

Making sure you've got decent tyres fitted kinda helps in this respect also

Its got these fat Yokohama low-profile sports tyres, the car has bucket loads of grip and you can barely feel those road humps.

I'll put some photos of the car and tyres and alloys as soon as I've finished tarting up the inside of the car
