But £1250 is a tight budget to find one (locally) that isn't rubbish, even on eBay!

Went to see one last night in Newport which was a dog. Shame the seller wasn't even a little bit honest on the phone.

MX5's are holding silly money now, even knackered up mk1's which are let passed their best. Those that aren't crap are stupidly priced - it's as if everyone's woke up to the fact they're a dirt cheap fun car, and now the demand has pushed the price through the roof.

2k even doesn't go a long way for an MX5 these days.

Found one! '96 1.8 import, £1300! Pics to follow, it's got rather nice Lexus rear lights (eBay), style bars (eBay) and a hardtop (eBay) which should pull me back £500... what's the point of having a ragtop and fitting a hardtop? They don't leak!

It's my fourth

Once the kit is sold, it'll be induction/brake/coilover time

and 'cos it's an import, it has an LSD, aircon & headrest speakers (plus airbag, abs, elec mirrors, leather - seems a little excessive!)

I was under the impression (I'll try finding the site later) that the LSDs seized up/wore out with age and so most won't be working these days?
