For me its used car all the way, no way i'd spend 10K+ for 2 or 3K to be wiped off the value from taking it off the forecourt. But i do believe that people need to be educated that buying a car should depend on their circumstances. Some people think buying a £200 fiesta as a run around is a bargin till it costs them a thousand pounds in the first few weeks keeping it on the road.

used, I cannot afford new. :/
I would like to buy a brand new car one day, when I am hugely successful and earn alot of money for some reason
The only time I would ever buy a new car would be if I was stinking rich, and I can't see that ever happening.

Take Zafira for example.....I have just brought 10 of the same model...but they're cheap.
1.8 16v Elegance in Black Sapphire
List Price....£18120 inc Metallic
My Price (04 plate)
£13995 Vauxhall, not Opel, not imported, and 3 year warranty.
Cant go wrong.
Zafira 1.6 16v Life (base model but now with ABS)
Silver
List £15320
My price £10,995
SOld 4 of those on Saturday...1 left.
Now I'm not making any money out of them, but it'll help hit the target and we'll get a Volume Bonus.
Some cars still worth importing, but not Vauxhall at the mo

If I was buying, I'd go used.
But my lease hire/contract plan suits me at the moment.
i'm planning on buying used next year when i sell my week old car on...
depends what you want from your car i suppose.
I can't see the point of buying new now. There are so many people buying new that depreciation is very high, and cars are so well made now that an average 2-3 year old car has 85-90% of its useful life left (for typically 50% of the new price).
It's interesting to note when you go to France that used cars are worth more over there. I saw a ratty 10-12 year old Vauxhall cavalier (well, its Opel equivalent obviously) selling for about £1300. It'd have been worth less than £500 over here. I guess they just buy fewer new cars, so their market isn't so oversaturated with used ones.
its to get newer cars on the road rave, wack the prices of new cars down, and used 1's up.
Buying abrand new car is silly if it's just an A to B thing, 500-1500 will get a nice run-around and you're not stuck with monthly repayments til the car is falling to bits.
Mini!!!!!
depends how well u think it threw sdp. im selling my car next year, so ill have payed for 1 years insurance on a nippy car and drove a new car for a year.
