    I just turned down a drive of a DB9.... :(

My uncle came to visit today. He has a shiny new 6.0 V12 DB9..... it's BEAUTIFUL.. I sat in the driver's seat, awakened the beast and had a little tickle of the throttle. Then I got out, because I was petrified I'd bend it - it's as long if not longer than my van, 5 metres plus I reckon, and you can feel the power in it. Frightening tbh. I'm mostly disappointed in myself for being a chicken.

A friend of mine used to have one and I'd quite regularly drive it when I was in London. They're very easy to drive - great visibility which is unusual for cars of that calibre.

To be honest, I wouldn't either.

Yeah, so it's something I would love to do, but the idea of mucking anything up is too terrible to imagine

I have to admit the first time I read the subject title I did think ..do what with a serial connection?!? Then I switch for geek to car mode. I don't think I would have turned down a drive in one, and would like to be a owner however I don't think a street in london would be a good place to keep and aston.

I would give my left and possibly even my favoured right testicle to have driven it. Or £59 if you get the day out from Argos.

From his profile pic it's too late for that. However this is something he's going to have to tell his son when he's 18...

My mum had a Riva, the body roll was shocking, the wing mirrors might as well of had wheels on them...

    Re: I just turned down a drive of a DB9.... :(

I know where you are coming from with this.

I used to share a house with someone who had a Lotus Esprit.

I never arranged insurance for it, so I never got to drive it. He was quite happy for me to have a go, but as I couldn't afford to bend it I left it alone.

Should I have put the effort in? Possibly, though I couldn't have afforded the extra insurance at the time really. Do I regret it still? Only a little, life is fun enough.
